This is not a projection, this is not the final work, just to give an idea which is important for us that, in this virtual museum as Michael was saying, that you encounter a piece of art, it is not something behind a window but you really are facing as you are facing a person, which is very important for us.
So, we will gather all the collections scattered around the world, all the forms of art will be represented, it will be organized by pavilion, each pavilion will be named after a city which represents an "âge d'or" in the history of Afghanistan. This was made by Michael Barry, this map.
There will be 12 pavilions, each pavilion will have between 8 and 10 thematic galleries, each object will have 3 access levels : a short description, an encyclopedic one,and an academic one, the third one. Each object will be contextualized geographically, ethnographically, historically with a comparative with Europe and the Far East.
It will be in four languages, Afghan Persian, Pashto, which are the most spoken languages in Afghanistan and of course French and English.
The approach will be absolutly multi media, which means photos, videos, sounds, music, a.s.o., will be in the museum, interactive, user friendly, which what this technology offers : the possibility "to dig" into more complex content and for the persons who are not familiar with museum there will be guides, but not usual museum guides, art lovers, and of course a contemporary pavilion, to show the rebirth of the rich cultural life in Afghanistan, which is not designed yet.
So to make it short, they key points are :
the museum, the architect, the collections that are dispersed in the world, the context, the validation of the content by experts, the 3 level accesses, the 4 languages and the participation.
There will be also a special pavilion offered to Afghan people to deposit their own archives, it will be private, as you know there is a big diaspora and sometimes they do not have (share) family recollections.
